Softness was never the full story

Ash Chapter is a series born from unraveling and rediscovery during one of the most challenging years of my artistic journey—2024, my time in college. These pieces are some of my least loved; many felt like mistakes. The sculpture literally exploded in the kiln. The paintings sometimes felt like failures. But those failures are the heart of this work.

This series is charged with anger, frustration, and a fierce search for voice. It’s a collision of emotional rawness and vibrant Y2K symbolism, where neon hues and chaotic motifs clash with exhaustion and doubt. The figures twist and lean, confronting the viewer with tiredness and defiance, never posed, always existing in that fragile space between breakdown and breakthrough.
